Hotel Poem Istanbul

The Hotel Poem is a 19th century Ottoman style boutique hotel renovated in 1992. Its lobby area features scattered rugs and wood furniture with doors leading out to the garden. It is located in the center of the old Sultanahmet, 500 meters from the Emperor Justinian's Byzantine masterpiece Hagia Sofia. The 17 guestrooms feature traditional Turkish décor with oak furnishings and wrought iron bed. All include Internet connections, air conditioning, hair dryers, and telephones. The hotel houses a library, a garden and offers complimentary parking for guests arriving by car. For those guests with business needs, the hotel provides conference rooms and a range of secretarial services. At the hotel's Terrace Bar, guests can enjoy a wide selection of drinks and snacks. The terrace features wrought iron railings, square tables and armchair style chairs and looks out over the Bosphorus and Marmara seas. After breakfast, guests can ask the hotel's multilingual concierge for sightseeing assistance. Many of Istanbul's most renowned attractions are within 500 meters. These include the Blue Mosque built in the 17th century by Sultan Ahmet I, Topkapi Palace the Sultan's former private residence, the Roman underground Cistern, Istanbul Archaeological Museum and the Islamic Art Museum. The Grand Bazaar with its thousands of shops and eateries, is at a one kilometer distance. Ataturk Airport is 18 kilometers from the hotel.

Havas Shuttle buses run to the center of Istanbul. The metro runs from the airport to Cankurtaran train station, near the hotel. Alternatively, taxis and a hotel shuttle are available.
